The People’s Forum: A Truly Transparent Town Hall, hosted by Change Through Action in collaboration with the Center for Community Engagement and the Department of Political Science at SUNY Plattsburgh. The event will be held in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall, SUNY Plattsburgh on February 17, 2018 from 3 - 5 PM. Questions during the forum will come from audience members (selected through a lottery drawing during forum). All announced candidates in the Congressional race that have filed with the FEC are invited to take part in this non-partisan town hall event.

The goal of The People’s Forum is the education of both citizens and candidates. We want candidates to hear and understand the needs of the people, and the people to hear and understand the goals and positions held dear by the candidates. Toward this end, candidates will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and to answer questions posed by citizens of the district. The forum will be co-moderated by Julia Devine (Center for Community Engagement) and Jonathan Slater (Institute for Ethics in Public Life) at SUNY Plattsburgh, ensuring respectful dialogue, transparency, and timeliness.
