Fighting to Restore the Republic: A Fundraiser for Katie Wilson

  • Republican Restoratives 1369 New York Ave NW Washington, DC 20002 (map)

Today, though single working mothers represent 25% of US households, they only hold about 1.5% of Congressional seats. According to the 2016 U.S. Census, their median annual income is <$35,000. Faced with income inequality, food insecurity, a lack of educational opprotunities, and the stigma hanging over public assistance, it's high time more moms took a seat at the table.

Enter North Country Democrat Katie Wilson.

Katie is a long-time political activist, small local business owner, and single mother of two children in elementary school. A native of New York's Adirondack region, Katie has developed deep community ties by living and working through these issues alongside her neighbors every day. As a life-long Democrat with North Country roots, Katie would bring a fresh energy and the working class spirit back to the Democratic Party.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for incumbent Rep. Elise Stefanik (R). In a district where half of all households bring home less than $50,000 annually, our current representative has voted to repeal ObamaCare, to restrict environmental regulations, and to roll back consumer protections created in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. She is widely regarded in the district as nothing more than a mouthpiece for Speaker Ryan's talking points and has refused to hold any town hall meetings this year.

We in New York's North Country are working class farmers, tradesmen, conservationists, educators, and, yes, single parents struggling to pull ourselves up. We represent the best in the potential of rural America. We are long overdue for true representation in Washington.

We invite you to come out to grab a drink and plot the future with Katie this Thursday September 28th from 6-9PM at female owned & operated Republic Restoratives. Enjoy 20% off your tab all night with a $25 donation (cash/check/webpay)!
